With the monsoon season approaching, the Dadra & Nagar Haveli administration has entered alert mode to prevent the spread of vector-borne diseases like dengue and malaria.

🌧️ Pre-Monsoon Preparedness Begins

A crucial inter-departmental coordination meeting was held at the Silvassa Collectorate under the chairmanship of Deputy Collector Amit Kumar. The meeting was organized by the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP).

📊 District Situation & Risk Analysis

State Programme Officer Dr. Ganesh Varnekar presented a detailed overview of:

  • Current vector-borne disease trends
  • Identification of sensitive and high-risk zones
  • Expected increase in cases during monsoon
Waterlogging and poor sanitation during monsoon create ideal breeding conditions for mosquitoes, increasing health risks.

  • Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS)
  • Larval surveillance drives
  • Fever detection surveys
  • Sanitation & cleanliness campaigns

🤝 Multi-Department Coordination

Officials from multiple departments including Education, PWD, Industry, Planning Division, Forest, Agriculture, Silvassa Municipal Council, and RDC Khanvel participated.

All departments assured full cooperation to ensure a safe and disease-free monsoon season.
